Local Docker installation
Run the exchange with Docker Compose and published GHCR images. Install Docker with the Compose plugin and start its daemon. No Rust toolchain is required.
Install
Install the native CLI on Linux (amd64 or arm64) or macOS (Apple silicon):
export MMX_VERSION=0.1.0-rc.1
curl -fsSLO "https://github.com/awesomepandapig/mmx/releases/download/v$MMX_VERSION/install.sh"
sh install.sh "$MMX_VERSION"
export PATH="$HOME/.local/bin:$PATH"The installer verifies the release checksum. Alternatively, download the mmx binary for your platform from the release assets and put it on your PATH.
Start the exchange:
mmx local up
mmx local statusThe CLI installs its bundled Compose deployment into $XDG_CONFIG_HOME/mmx or ~/.config/mmx, generates a private admin token, pulls published images, and waits for containers to start. Docker volumes preserve exchange state.
Connect
The local deployment exposes REST on 8000, the console on 8093, and WebSocket on 8080. The CLI uses the local console and stored token automatically:
mmx health
mmx status
mmx local credentialscredentials reads the first-run password from the console logs. Choose a new password when you first sign in.
Open your Docker host's console service on port 8093, or continue with the CLI walkthrough in Getting started.
Stop and restart
mmx local restart outbox
mmx local downdown stops the containers and preserves data volumes. For source changes, use the source build path.
